Southern Palm Travel was founded in 2003 out of the owner's interest in traveling and wanting share that interest.

Southern Palm Travel is operated by Carl Specci.
Since 1986, Carl has worked in the travel industry in various jobs. He started working in the hotel industry as a guest service representative for Red Roof Inns in Troy, Michigan. While working at Red Roof Inn, he learned the importance of customer service and how vital it is to a customers experience and the business success. He worked for Red Roof Inns for a total of 5 years in Troy, Madison Heights & Farmington Hills, Michigan.
In 2003, he joined JDI Travel in Auburn Hills, Michigan as an accountant. JDI Travel's primary business model was Holy Land group tours. They customized travel plans for various church organization throughout the eastern United States. While working at JDI, he was able to gain an understanding of the formation of group travel and the need to pay special attention to detail as it relates to the group needs. Including the back office process.
In 2008, he connected with Anton Anderssen Travel in Warren, Michigan to be a part-time home-based travel agent. He named his business "Southern Palm Travel". While working his travel business, the primary focus of the business was on cruise travel for individuals and groups. He worked as a home-based agent for Anton Anderssen until 2013 when he relocated to Fruitland Park, Florida.
In 2014, he connected with Outside Agents, a host agency located in Jacksonville, Florida to once again be a home-based travel agent and revive the business name he used in Michigan. He continued his business practice of booking cruise travel for individuals and groups.
In 2017, he formed a limited liability company under the name SPTRV, LLC. He transferred the dba of Southern Palm Travel from his personal use to the LLC. Since the formation of his LLC, the business has had phenomenal growth with the continued business practice of booking cruises and has now expanded his business to include Disney and tour vacations.

In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, bowling and being active in various community groups.
